Mbali Milanzi

Mbali is a co-founder and Executive Director of Tshepa Basadi Group, a diversified holdings company with interests in property development, mining, project management and technical services. A certified Project Management Professional (PMP)® and Chartered Director (IoDSA), she combines engineering expertise with entrepreneurial vision to deliver high-impact infrastructure and mining projects.

She is the Founder of The Empowerment Network (TEN), an organization dedicated to advancing self-worth, leadership, and empowerment through community-based initiatives and storytelling projects. Dr Mary is a respected mentor, coach, and award-winning speaker, celebrated for her impactful contributions to project management, social cohesion, and community development.

Briony Liber

Briony Liber is a leadership coach with nine years’ experience guiding mid-level and senior technical professionals through the transition into strategic leadership roles. Her coaching approach blends leadership insights from a 20-year career in the mining industry with curiosity, compassion, and courage—offering clients a powerful combination of strategic perspective, deep self-awareness, and the confidence to lead authentically in complex, high-stakes environments.

Briony designed and delivered a career coaching and mentoring programme that has supported over 300 mid-level professionals across mining operations in South Africa. She also regularly offers pro bono guidance to young professionals and is passionate about helping them navigate the often-daunting transition from university into the world of work.

Hon. Sihle Zikalala, MP

Hon. Sihle Zikalala is the Deputy Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure in the Republic of South Africa and a Member of Parliament. A seasoned public servant and strategist, he previously served as Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, where he spearheaded large-scale infrastructure and economic transformation programmes designed to unlock investment, drive inclusive growth and expand opportunities for youth and small businesses.

With more than two decades in provincial and national leadership, Mr Zikalala has held senior positions in government, policy development and community mobilisation, giving him a deep understanding of the levers that shape sustainable development. He is widely recognised for championing skills development, localisation and ethical governance in public works.

As Deputy Minister, he continues to advance South Africa’s infrastructure agenda by strengthening intergovernmental coordination, accelerating delivery of strategic projects and ensuring that public investment contributes to both economic competitiveness and social upliftment.

Londiwe Khuzwayo

Londiwe Khuzwayo is a dynamic Master of Ceremonies, moderator and media personality with more than a decade of experience hosting high-profile events, conferences and leadership engagements across South Africa. As the founder of ConjunXion Projects and Style by Thuthu, she combines entrepreneurship with a passion for small business development and youth empowerment.

Known for her professionalism, warmth and charisma on stage, Londi has guided programmes for corporates, accelerators and leadership forums, as well as hosted radio, television and podcast shows. She also founded Funda Uhluzeke, a book-drive initiative supporting under-resourced schools in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.

Academically, she holds a BA in Psychology and International Relations, an Honours in International Relations and a Postgraduate qualification in Business Management and Administration. She is currently pursuing an MBA and PMP certification. Londiwe’s work reflects her commitment to equipping Africa’s next generation with knowledge, confidence and purpose while delivering memorable, impactful events.

Nozibele Ntshokotsha

Nozibele Ntshokotsha is a Civil Engineer and Project Management Professional with over two decades’ experience steering multi-billion-rand infrastructure programmes and embedding governance frameworks that secure long-term value. She is known for turning strategic intent into tangible assets that strengthen economic resilience, enhance community well-being and position organisations as trusted leaders in utilities and infrastructure.

A strong advocate for advancing the profession, she was instrumental in South Africa becoming one of the first African countries to join PMI’s Global Executive Council, promoting African representation at a global level.

Her commitment to excellence, innovation and sustainable infrastructure continues to inspire peers and shape the future of project delivery.

Mvuyelwa Brian Mtwa

Mvuyelwa Brian Mtwa is the Technical Director: Infrastructure at Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA), with over 30 years of leadership and technical expertise in the Built Environment multidisciplinary engineering sectors, including architecture. He is a Certified International Project Manager (IAPM) and a registered Professional Engineering Technologist (ECSA), holding an MSc in Building/Construction Management, BSc (Hons) in Technology Management, and B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

Brian has successfully led multi-billion-rand infrastructure programmes, from Return To Service, emissions reduction projects for Eskom’s coal-fired power stations to complex, multidisciplinary port infrastructure engineering design developments at Transnet. His experience spans international collaborations across three continents, delivering strategic frameworks, technology collaboration and transfer that enhances governance, efficiency, and sustainable development.

Committed to nurturing future leaders, Brian is a mentor in various organisations, conducting annual career guidance at his rural high school. He believes ethical, impact- driven leadership is key to transforming Africa’s project economy and fostering sustainable growth.

Mogaleadi Seabela

Mogaleadi Seabela is the Deputy Chairperson for Women in Mining South Africa (WiMSA). She is a multi-award-winning mining engineer with an MSc (Mining Engineering) and mining experience in coal and iron ore mining. She is currently working for Anglo American as the manager for Contractor Performance Management system.

Some of the accolades include being a Woman of Stature finalist for 2024, 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining (WIM100) 2022 and the winner of the 18th annual Standard Bank Top Women in Science Award. She is the former chairperson of Sishen Mine Women in Mining as well as the immediate past chairperson of Wits University Mining Engineers Association (WUMEA) Northern Cape branch.

Mogaleadi is a seasoned speaker and presenter. She has participated in several international mining conferences, including the World Mining Congress in Australia and the Mining Show in Dubai. She has great love for education and mentoring, and has worked with schools, universities, communities and organisations such as Women in Engineering organisation (WomEng) to share her love for education and mentoring. Mogaleadi enjoys the outdoors and some extreme sports, spending quiet time over a book and spending time in the kitchen exploring food.

Michelle Bester is a seasoned professional in Job Architecture and currently serves as a Senior Manager in the Human Capital Workforce Transformation team at Deloitte Consulting SA. Ayanda Nyikana

Ayanda Nyikana is a dynamic leader whose impact spans entrepreneurship, engineering, and project management. Honoured as a PMI Future 50 Leader and multiple international award winner, she is celebrated for her strategic insight and excellence. A tireless community champion, she became the first Youth Ambassador for PMI South Africa Chapter, later serving as its President & CEO.

Ayanda has influenced industries from automotive to energy and leads global initiatives integrating project management into entrepreneurship. A dedicated mentor, she has guided high school learners, international PhD candidates, and over 50 students in South Africa, empowering youth with empathy and vision.

Billy S. Mwape

Billy S. Mwape is a seasoned technology and project management leader with over 18 years’ experience in the mining and banking sectors. He holds an MBA and BSc in Computer Science, is a qualified telecoms engineer and carries multiple certifications including PMP®, PMI-ACP®, DASSM, DAC, DAVSM, COBIT5, and Certified Enterprise Risk Management.

Currently CIO at FNB Zambia, Billy also serves as ICT Committee Board Member for Zambia Electronic Clearing House, PMI Sub-Saharan Africa Region Mentor, Past President of PMI Zambia Chapter and Council Member of Heriot-Watt University.

A Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM), TED speaker and global keynote speaker, he has led major digital transformation programmes, IT governance initiatives and agile business strategies. Dr. Nombasa Tsengwa

Ranked as a leading LinkedIn content creators with resounding influence. She is a pioneering mining investor, an advocate of ownDNALeadership TM , the former President of the Minerals Council, and past CEO of Exxaro Resources, a major South African listed mining company. A multiple award winner and recognised gender icon in mining. She is acclaimed to have championed transformation, responsible growth, and sustainable
development throughout her career.

She is the Founder and CEO of L’inyathelo.com, a strategic investment platform focused on unlocking value in the resources and energy ventures, a global movement of organic leaders in response to African challenges, while fostering sustainable growth. Nombasa is a sought-after voice on leadership, especially resilience, transformation, growth, and industry innovation.

Rudi Dicks

Rudi Dicks heads the Project Management Office in the Private Office of the President of South Africa, where he drives strategic national programmes such as the Presidential Employment Stimulus, the Youth Employment Initiative, the Just Energy Transition Investment Plan and Operation Vulindlela – a joint Presidency–National Treasury initiative accelerating structural reforms to unlock investment and inclusive growth.

Under his leadership the PMO tackles bottlenecks to infrastructure delivery, regulatory reform and local government coordination, while stabilising and restructuring key sectors including energy, freight logistics, telecommunications and water. He has led high-level responses to crises such as the July 2021 unrest and the rail and port backlog, shaping national interventions to restore confidence and economic activity.

Previously an Outcomes Facilitator at the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Rudi established the Socio-Economic Impact Assessment System (SEIAS) now used across government. Before joining the Presidency he served as Executive Director of NALEDI, the research arm of COSATU, and has been active in the labour movement since 1994.

Rudi holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Economic Principles and an MSc in Finance from the University of London, plus an Advanced Management Programme qualification from Wits Business School.

Farai Ntuli

Farai Mubaiwa was the Africa Livelihoods and Education Lead for Accenture Development Partnerships and a Strategy Manager at Accenture. She works with development partners across the continent on youth employment, entrepreneurship, education, and gender equity, including co-creating a youth skilling and job-matching platform with a UN agency.

She previously served as Chief Partnerships Officer at the Youth Employment Service (YES), where she forged high-impact collaborations to expand youth jobs nationwide, and managed initiatives that combined HIV prevention with skills development and employment for thousands of young people. Farai also founded the Afrika Matters Initiative and created the Impact with Farai blog, viewed by more than 120,000 people.

Recognised as a Queen’s Young Leader, TEDx speaker, One Young World Ambassador, Dalai Lama Fellow, and Stellenbosch University Exceptional Alumni Award recipient, she has also been ranked among the Top 100 Mandelas of the Future and Top 100 Influential Young South Africans.

Farai holds an MSc in Political Economy of Emerging Markets from King’s College London, awarded with distinction. She serves on the boards of HerHorizon Network and Scouts SA, advancing her mission to empower Africa’s youth and enable inclusive development.

Willem Botha

Willem Botha is an accomplished project manager with over 23 years of experience in engineering and project management across Africa and the Middle East. As Head of Projects at Zutari, Willem provides strategic oversight for a diverse project portfolio, driving operational and project delivery excellence, risk management, and project governance.

His leadership has transformed project delivery, improved margins, and fostered high-performance teams. Willem’s career includes pivotal roles such as Managing Director: Greater Africa, where he led market growth and regional operations, and Head of Petrochemical, Resources, and Manufacturing, overseeing complex technical teams and major infrastructure projects. Heather Swanepoel

Heather Swanepoel is the Digital Factory Manager at DRA Global , where she leads a department focusing on automation, digital transformation, datafication and AI-powered solutions across a global engineering business. With two decades in mining, energy and manufacturing, she translates vision into roadmaps that digitalize processes, modernise legacy platforms, integrate applications, and unlock real-time, data-driven decisions.

Previously General Manager: IT at DRA Global and a Senior Manager at Accenture, she has stewarded multimillion-dollar portfolios, SAP S/4HANA programmes, and secure, scalable architectures. Her leadership centres on ethical AI—balancing automation with accountability, privacy and human oversight—and on measurable value creation through disciplined delivery.

On the “From Legacy to Leap” panel, Heather will share how to de-risk modernization while accelerating outcomes. On “AI-Powered Leadership,” she’ll discuss practical guardrails, operating models, and talent strategies for trustworthy, data-led decision-making. Sekadi Phayane-Shakhane

A registered engineer with 20+ years of experience, Sekadi has led transformative public transport projects across South Africa. Now CEO of SAICE, she brings Visionary leadership, global recognition, and a deep commitment to community impact and youth empowerment.

As CEO of SAICE, she brings sharp technical insight, leadership excellence, and a passion for using engineering to solve real­ world problems and improve lives.

Karabo Moloko

Ndumiso Lindi, the comedy Gentleman we know as the Roosta, is a brilliant and genuinely funny South Africa comedian. His intuition and intellect give him a firm grasp of his nation’s collective funny bone, and so he appeals to a huge spectrum of the population.

Dr Marcus Mnqobiwezizwe Dlamini

Dr Marcus Mnqobiwezizwe Dlamini is a Strategic Projects Executive, Project Leader, and Board Member with over 20 years of experience leading large-scale infrastructure across water, energy, and transport sectors. He holds a PhD in Engineering Management and Entrepreneurship (UJ), MBA (NWU), Master’s in Engineering Management (UJ), BTech in Civil Engineering (UJ), and a National Diploma in Civil Engineering (MUT), complemented by the GEDP (GIBS).

A Member of the Institute of Directors South Africa and an International Member of Engineers Ireland, he is also globally certified (PMP, PrCPM – SACPCMP). At Rand Water, Dr Dlamini has directed multi-billion-rand capital projects, while advising the UJ Council, SAICE CEO Advisory, and executive teams on infrastructure strategy, risk, and sustainability.

He serves on the SAICE Project Management Committee, contributes to national infrastructure policy, and mentors emerging leaders. An active researcher, reviewer, and rapporteur in project management and water infrastructure, he champions inclusive, resilient, and transformative leadership.

Khwezi Tiya

With over 30 years’ experience, Khwezi is a seasoned project development advisor, financier, and economic development policy specialist at the intersection of energy, infrastructure, and industrialisation. Beginning his career in engineering, he later held executive roles in corporate and investment banking as well as the public sector, where he enabled transformative investments across Africa.

Known for his ability to lead diverse teams and execute high-value projects in complex policy environments, Khwezi brings both technical and strategic expertise. He holds a BSc in Civil Engineering (University of Natal), an MBA (Nyenrode Business Universiteit, Netherlands), and an MSc in Financial Management (SOAS, University of London). He also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

A registered Professional Engineer (ECSA) and certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Khwezi also contributes as a volunteer member of PMI’s African Stakeholder Working Group.

Dr. Gargi Mishra

Dr. Gargi Mishra is a strategy and innovation leader with over 22 years of experience across the mining value chain in Africa, India, and Canada. She combines operational expertise with deep capability in technology, digitalisation, AI, and foresight.

She works with C-suite leaders in mining, technology, and sustainability to embed future thinking in strategy and execution, and also teaches at leading business schools on innovation, AI strategy, and futures literacy. She has spoken at more than 20 national and international conferences on the future of work, digital transformation, and sustainability.

Takalani Netshipale

Takalani Netshipale is an award-winning Civil Engineer and passionate advocate for ethics, diversity, and inclusivity in STEM. She has led infrastructure projects at the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health, restoring flood-damaged facilities, upgrading hospitals, and mentoring interns, while also contributing internationally to sustainable toll systems and intelligent transport solutions.

As Chair of the SAICE Ethics Committee, Deputy Chair of SAICE D&I, and a member of SAICE STAR and Future Leaders Panel, she has championed ethics and STEM outreach, impacting more than 1,000 students. Recognised with accolades including the 2024 SAICE Presidential Award and the Big 5 Rising Star Award, she also drives STEM empowerment for girls through summits, mentorship, and early childhood initiatives. Zodwa Pakade

Zodwa Pakade is the co-founder of ZPM Ventures (Pty) Ltd, investing in ICT and renewable energy across Africa. An experienced board member, she has served on MTN Foundation, Pearson South Africa, and chairs Junior Achievement South Africa, part of the world’s largest youth development network.

As former Executive Head of JA South Africa, Zodwa expanded the organisation’s reach, secured major partnerships with ABSA and MasterCard, and improved its scorecard from 32% to 81%. Under her board leadership, JA South Africa tripled student reach and raised over R20 million in funding.

Her corporate career includes senior roles at Dimension Data, Microsoft South Africa, and BP Southern Africa, driving strategy, innovation, and market expansion. Khodani Makatu

Khodani Makatu is the COO at New Leaders Foundation, with more than a decade of experience in the South African education sector. He holds a BSc in Geology, an MBA, and PMP certification.

For the past nine years, Khodani has played a central role in the growth of the Data Driven Districts (DDD) programme, progressing from consultant to national implementation manager before taking on executive leadership. He has extensive experience leading large-scale, technology-enabled initiatives and embedding data-driven practices within complex organisations and education systems. His core expertise includes stakeholder engagement, systemic change management, agile project and technology leadership and driving social reform through data, innovation and technologies.

Khodani was appointed Interim COO in December 2024 and formally took on the role in June 2025, where he now drives the DDD programme’s impact across all provincial education departments.

Prof. Giel Bekker

Prof. Giel Bekker began his career as a mechanical design engineer in the petrochemical sector before moving into project and construction management, where he oversaw portfolios exceeding USD 200 million. In 2000, he founded ProjectWay, delivering more than 300 projects across heavy industry, mining and construction.

Since 2000, he has headed the Project Management Programme at the University of Pretoria as Associate Professor, also lecturing internationally in Scotland, Sweden and Lithuania. He has contributed to the development of ISO 21500 project management standards and led the ISO 21503 working group on project governance.

Prof. Bekker holds a B.Eng, M.Eng, MBA and PhD in Project Governance, and is a registered Professional Engineer. His leadership includes establishing PMI South Africa’s Mpumalanga Branch and co-founding the Construction Industry Institute Africa Chapter. A recipient of the PMSA Excellence Award, he is widely published and a frequent conference speaker.

Dr. Sanele Nhlabatsi

Sanele Nhlabatsi is a Senior Lecturer in project management at the University of South Africa (UNISA) Graduate School of Business Leadership. She holds a doctorate in Program and Project Management from the SKEMA Business School (France), an MBA in International Business from the University of the District of Columbia (USA), and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Swaziland.

Doctor Nhlabatsi is a project management specialist with extensive experience across multiple African countries and the USA. She has over 15 years’ project practitioner experience in the international development and financial services sectors. Sanele has held executive roles such as Managing Director and Regional Director at Standard Bank, with governance experience as a board chair in a public sector environment.

She currently serves as a member of the PMI Sub Sahara Africa African Stakeholder Working Group (ASWG).

Dr. Thabani Mudavanhu

Dr Thabani has more than 20 years’ experience across plant engineering, project and programme management, operations, telecoms infrastructure roll-out, management consulting and academia. He holds an Honours and Master’s degree in Engineering, as well as a PhD in Strategy Execution.

Kenneth Milanzi is the Head: Stakeholder Engagement Strategic Projects at the Absa Group. He transitions from his role as Lead ESG Commercialisation at Absa Corporate and Investment Banking, where he played a pivotal role in advancing the bank’s ESG commercial strategy.

Kenneth brings over a decade’s experience in sustainability, having previously served as an ESG Specialist at the New Development Bank in China, with impactful roles at Sasol and Glencore’s Western Chrome Mines.

He was Chief Executive Officer, MTN South Africa, as well as Managing Director, Microsoft South Africa. He spent 12 years in IBM, handling various
roles in multiple jurisdictions, including Director of Global Technology Services, South Africa. Mteto studied mechanical engineering at the University of Kwazulu-Natal. In 2021, he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Johannesburg.
